The message noted that this was the third personal meeting between the Russian leader and his colleague Ilham Aliyev in 2024.
The talks are planned to be held in two rounds, in a narrow and an extended format. We will discuss not only Russian-Azerbaijani interaction, but also regional and international policy issues, in particular the Azerbaijani-Armenian agreement.
Following the visit, a Joint Statement of the Heads of State is planned to be published.
“The signing of a peace agreement, advancing the process of delimitation of borders and unblocking economic ties in the region remain key tasks,” the negotiation materials note.
