On August 15, among other things, there will be an expression of strength, freedom of choice and unity, which “we really need in light of the threats from the East,” said the head of the Ministry of National Defence, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, after the dress rehearsal for the parade marking Polish Army Day.
At the press conference, after attending the dress rehearsal for the parade on Wisłostrada in Warsaw, Kosiniak-Kamysz stressed that on August 15 we will celebrate “the anniversary of the great victory – the Battle of Warsaw”. He invited everyone to celebrate the holiday in all places in Poland, but especially in Warsaw, wherever The parade will start at 2 p.m.
The head of the Ministry of National Defense stressed that on August 15 we will show unity and national community.
Our presence will be an expression of gratitude to past generations and hope for future generations. It will also demonstrate our strength, agency and unity, which we desperately need in the face of threats from the East
– he said.
Now let’s talk about respect…
He added that all soldiers of the Polish army and officers in uniform deserve respect.
Everyone who works for the security of Poland deserves our gratitude. The celebration of the Polish Army Day will be an expression of this gratitude
– he explained.
As the minister noted, Poland will present during the parade the three pillars of our security, namely the national community, a strong and well-managed army and strength in alliances.
Thanks to everyone who helped to make the party safe. This is a great event and a demonstration of our strength and unity despite the threats
– he pointed out.
Despite assurances from representatives of the ruling coalition, including Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, about support and gratitude for the Polish army, opposition politicians insist that this is an extremely brazen change of story. Former head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak recently reportedthat there is a shortage of jobs for professional soldiers in the east of the country.
I hear information about strange things happening in the recruitment system for the Polish army! Is it true that there is a shortage of positions for professional soldiers, especially in the east of Poland, even if new units were created there? Is it true that the average annual limit set by the Ministry of Defense is lower than the number of people willing to be called up for professional military service?
– said Mariusz Błaszczak.
Celebration plan
The parade will start on August 15 at 2 p.m. In addition to soldiers from all branches of the military, almost 100 soldiers from allied forces and structures will take part: from the United States, Great Britain and Romania, as well as representatives of the Eurocorps and the NATO Joint Forces Training Center. They will be accompanied by almost 80 aircraft and 220 pieces of ground equipment, including Abrams tanks, Rosomak and Borsuk transporters, Krab and K9 gun howitzers, Himars rocket launchers, and Patriot and Mała Narew anti-aircraft systems. The soldiers will march along Warsaw’s Wisłostrada, as they did last year; a convenient observation point, for example, will be the slope on the square of the 1st Polish Armored Division near the New Town.
Polish Army Day, celebrated on August 15, commemorates the victorious Battle of Warsaw in 1920, when the army of the reborn Polish state, in a series of victorious operations, pushed back the Red Army attacking from Warsaw from the east.
It is very interesting to listen to coalition politicians now about the military and security, when they say something that is completely opposite to the story they had when they were in opposition.
