A very sad interview was conducted by Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf with Wanda Traczyk-Stawska, one of the few (if not the only) heroines of 80 years ago who today supports Donald Tusk. Mrs. Wanda is used everywhere, because she is a very useful tool in the storytelling tournament. For example, Mrs. Traczyk-Stawska’s voice is meant to dissuade people from claiming that patriots are demanding reparations, because Mrs. Wanda is not demanding reparations, and who can say she is not a patriot, hmm?
Traczyk-Stawska on… Trump and Kaczyński
Dorota Wysocka-Schnepf’s conversation was also about the disaster in Smolensk. That the weather was bad and that they were not allowed to fly. And that Trump is destroying the unity of the world. And about the Russian-Ukrainian war: that the West is not helping enough.
It is not a question of agreeing or disagreeing with the rebel – I agree with the latter – but the point is that Mrs Wanda is not the right person for some issues. She is 97 years old, her mind is no longer the same, the world has changed, she is a psychologist by training and not a specialist in aviation or 21st century weapons – she is not an expert in everything, and asking her strictly party issues on the eve of the anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising is very inappropriate.
Beat a rebel like a club
Wysocka-Schnepf even asked Mrs. Wanda about Jarosław Kaczyński – for what, why, on what occasion? We know what kind of anti-PiS intensification, because media authority is supposed to cover the whole of humanity holistically. Let Mrs. Wanda also tell us how to cure colon cancer, how to build a nuclear power plant, let Donald Tusk run a Twitter account – after all, she fought in the uprising, that’s enough for all her talent, right?
Embarrassing questions
But the parade of impropriety does not end with the party’s use of Ms. Wanda. What brings this form of journalism even closer to the bottom is the style of questioning – because when Mrs. Powstaniec did not say the question expected by the interviewer, Wysocka-Schnepf asked questions in such a way that a nod was sufficient. The suggestions from these interviews stood out above allHere are some examples of follow-up questions:
Do you mean that Jarosław Kaczyński is to some extent responsible for what happened? (It’s about Smolensk).
I remember how Radosław Sikorski said in Berlin more than eight years ago that he was not afraid of a strong Germany, but of its passivity. And today we can understand that he foresaw what could happen, but at that time many people were outraged by these words. Were you outraged by these words at that time, or did you think he was right? (re: I knew he was right)
But today you defend the modern Germans. Do you think that the modern generation of Germans should not be blamed for what their ancestors did eighty years ago? (answer: Yes).
The question about Donald Tusk’s support in next year’s presidential election has not yet been asked. It is truly disgusting that they cannot honor the memory of the Warsaw Uprising out of respect for history, but only because of party points and a political message.
