According to the head of the Prime Minister’s Office, Jan Grabiec, the National Electoral Commission should reject PiS’s financial report. Any other decision would be incomprehensible, he said, because “we have never had violations of electoral rules on such a scale.”
The National Electoral Commission will return to examine the financial reports of the electoral commissions from last year’s parliamentary elections. Government officials expect the PiS election commission’s report to be rejected, which would result in a loss of up to 75%. entity subsidy and subsidy from the state budget.
If the National Electoral Commission decides that everything is fine, that would be a completely incomprehensible decision. We have never seen violations of the electoral rules on such a scale. It (PKW) might as well spread, because there is nothing left to do when it comes to maintaining order in Poland.
– Grabiec said on TVP Info.
Pressure on the National Electoral Commission
The Prime Minister’s Office provided the National Electoral Commission with information about notifications sent to the prosecutor’s office regarding irregularities in PiS’s election campaign financing. When asked about the evidence sent to the National Electoral Commission, Grabiec gave an example of a military picnic documented by the Election Observatory, which – as he said – was used as an opportunity for election activities.
Jarosław Kaczyński (PiS president) comes on stage and for twenty minutes he praises PiS policies and calls the opposition traitors. The soldiers stand behind Kaczyński and are used as a photo wall
– said Grabiec.
Earlier, on the platform in Zawichost (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship). The post also included a short video in which Kaczyński encourages people to vote for PiS in the upcoming elections.
If you can jump into action at a military picnic, it means anything is possible
– stressed the head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery.
He added that there are dozens of similar pieces of evidence, and one is enough for the National Electoral Commission to reject the PiS election commission’s reports.
Grabiec recalled that the National Electoral Commission had in the past deprived parties of subsidies, for example for formal supervision; he cited the examples of Nowoczesna and PSL.
The PiS president judged that the meeting of the National Electoral Commission would be a “test day” for Polish democracy. According to him, a possible decision to withdraw PiS subsidies would be proof that “there will be no more democracy in Poland”. According to Kaczyński, there are no reasons to reject the PiS commission report, but – as he judged – there is “political will that stems from the feeling of weakness of the current coalition”.
Meeting on subsidies
The National Electoral Commission can accept the polling station’s financial report without reservation, noting any shortcomings, or reject it. Government officials express concerns about the spending of money from the Justice Fund, the use of public property, the financing of commercials and the acceptance of illicit financial benefits.
A possible rejection of the PiS financial report means that Jarosław Kaczyński’s party will receive up to 75 percent of the annual subsidy of almost PLN 26 million (according to the calculations of the National Electoral Commission, the expected annual subsidy for PiS amounts to PLN 25,933,375).
The head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery acts as a supervisor of the National Electoral Commission. It advises its members what decision to make about the electoral subsidy for Law and Justice. As we know, the dream of many politicians of the Civic Coalition is to liquidate the largest opposition party in Poland. Why fight with your opponent through programs when you can simply get rid of him.
