Morawiecki asked about Jaki
Asked about this during Monday’s visit to Tarnowskie Góry, Morawiecki replied that his party was thoroughly investigating about ten potential United Right candidates for the presidential election; confirmed that Jaki was among them. “If he wants to run, he needs to get the consent of our political leaders. If he wants to run for United Right, I naturally assume that such a decision is necessary,” Morawiecki said.
Naturally, we investigate all candidates who we think can compete for victory, because we are primarily interested in victory in the second round.
– the former prime minister stressed.
The term of office of President Andrzej Duda ends in August 2025. According to the regulations, the elections must be held on a holiday, which falls no earlier than 100 days and no later than 75 days before the end of the term of office of President Andrzej Duda. the incumbent head of state, i.e. the next elections on The presidential elections should be held in May 2025. The election date is determined by the Speaker of the Sejm.
Financial statements
During his visit to Tarnowskie Góry, Morawiecki was asked, among other things, about the National Electoral Commission investigating the financial reports of commissions of the 2023 parliamentary elections and about the fact that the National Electoral Commission has asked Prime Minister Donald Tusk to provide information about reports of election crimes.
About the subsidy I can only make one comment. If the National Electoral Commission dares to take such a step, a blow to democracy, by attacking the main, absolutely fundamental opposition party, we can clearly see that this is another step towards the destruction of democracy. We have seen many such steps
– said Morawiecki.
As he assured, PiS representatives did nothing during the campaign that politicians from other parties would not do: PO, PSL or Szymon Hołownia’s Poland 2050.
We have collected documents on this subject, we have documented the activities of our competitors. If the politicized National Election Commission takes such a decision illegally, we will defend democracy and defend ourselves from the destruction of the only voice of the opposition.
– the former prime minister added.
According to Morawiecki, workers and union members are being intimidated under the current government, including by: mining Solidarity, which “does not respond to collective redundancies” in the Polish Mining Group.
They want to intimidate the opposition, intimidate unions, intimidate workers and implement their neoliberal policies. We will not allow this
– he declared.
The National Electoral Commission is currently examining the financial reports of the 2023 parliamentary elections commissions and has decided to postpone the meeting on these reports until July 31. The reason for this, to the extent justified, is the need to supplement the collected material in order to conduct an in-depth, comprehensive analysis. The Commission had to submit this issue not only to the Head of Government, but also to the National Prosecutor’s Office and the Supreme Audit Office.
