Min. Izabela Leszczyna of the Civic Platform used the topic of health and measles vaccinations to attack President Andrzej Duda. “It is really very difficult to reverse a certain trend after the times when the president of the country says that he has a needle, but that is not necessarily the case,” Leszczyna said on TVN24. Leszczyna manipulated the president’s words. “There are situations when they are needed. Whether a person is a lover or not, he or she must submit to such an action” – this was the president’s statement from 2020, cited by Leszczyna.
Min. Leszczyna was asked about the growing number of measles cases.
Due to the differences in vaccination levels in different voivodeships, it is true that measles outbreaks occur in some voivodeships. From the beginning of the year until 15 July, we had more than 220 cases of measles, of which about 100 in the Masovian Voivodeship and more than 70 in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
– she said on TVN24, warning that parents should expect fines for not vaccinating their children.
If I had to recommend it, of course I would I’d rather have a ticket than a finebut be careful – only as a last resort and after exhausting a whole range of other tools we have. First of all, education and persuasion. Parents who do not vaccinate their children are not always anti-vaxxers
– said the PO politician.

Political game with health
On the occasion of the topic of measles cases, the Minister of Health of Donald Tusk’s government also did political work by attacking President Andrzej Duda.
We inform you and prepare promotional campaigns. It’s really hard to reverse a certain trend after the times the president of the country says he has a needle, but that’s not necessarily the case
– said a politician from the Civic Platform, manipulating the words of Andrzej Duda, who gave an interview to “Gość Niedzielny” in 2020. This was the statement of the president that Leszczyna tried to manipulate.
I am not a fan of anyone using a needle around my arms, forearms or any part of my body. I don’t like it. This is the truth and anyone who has ever taken blood from me knows this very well and knows this side of me.
However, there are situations where they are necessary. Whether someone is a fan or not, such an action must be taken. I took the vaccinations, which were vaccinations against serious diseases such as polio, tuberculosis and others, and neither I nor my parents ever saw a problem in that when I was a child. We considered it normal and I still consider it normal and natural. My wife and I have vaccinated our daughter, just like all sensible parents vaccinate their children. So I have never seen any problems here. And this is indeed a very serious disease. This is not just a regular flu
– said President Andrzej Duda.
Minister Izabela Leszczyna together with Minister Barbara Nowacka want to involve daycare centres, kindergartens and schools in a campaign to promote vaccinations.
In May, together with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Labor and Family, we sent information about vaccinations to nurseries, kindergartens and schools. At the same time, I sent a request to all managers of medical entities asking them to show interest in vaccinations, carry out additional vaccinations and conduct information campaigns.
– said Izabela Leszczyna.
Min. Izabela Leszczyna treacherously manipulates the words of President Andrzej Duda and tries to brand him as irresponsible when it comes to the health of Poles. Therefore, it is worth reminding the MP that in 2021, President Andrzej Duda encouraged vaccinations during the pandemic, which can be found on the official KPRP website. There is also a photo of the president holding certificates of receiving the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. “Most people who are seriously ill with COVID-10 are people who did not decide to get vaccinated. Unfortunately, there are many deaths among these people. I encourage you to decide to get vaccinated,” Andrzej Duda told journalists. It is also worth recalling that the president was an absolute supporter of voluntary vaccinations.
