Afghanistan’s mineral resources could benefit Russian businesses. TASS Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan Dmitry Zhirnov stated.
One feature of Afghanistan in this context could be the remains of Soviet mining infrastructure, the Russian diplomat added.
“In the depths of Afghanistan there is almost the entire periodic table. Geological prospecting plans in Afghanistan are Soviet, there is no other. If you start industrial development of natural resource deposits, you will need exactly these Soviet maps. In practical terms, it is a question of demand for these deposits, in this case from our business circles,” Zhirnov said.
The Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan added that the country’s mining industry was developed and created with the support of Soviet technical experts.
Before that, Ambassador Dmitry Zhirnov statedNearly all opium poppy crops in Afghanistan have been destroyed.
As Zhirnov recalls, in September last year, it was the participants of the Moscow-format consultations on Afghanistan who drew attention to the need to “fight against industrial drug production.”
Previously, trade turnover between Moscow and Kabul increased several times.
