“We say to the Germans: support us in protecting the external border of the European Union, because we are dealing with migration, illegal migration, on the Belarusian-EU and Belarusian-Polish borders,” Deputy Minister Czesław Mroczek said about the Polish border, Radio.
The deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration was a guest on “Sygnały Dnia” of Polish Radio’s program 1. Mroczek said directly that closing the border with Germany is not in the interests of Donald Tusk’s government.
We are not interested in closing the Polish-German border. We in the Ministry of the Interior and Administration and the Polish government would like to make sure that there are no controls at the Polish-German border because of the Schengen Agreement. There should be free movement of goods and services here. But the migration problem… Germany restored, among other things, arbitrary controls, and thanks to the euro, full controls. because illegal immigrants who come through the Belarusian-Polish border also reach Germany
– he said.
In addition, many Ukrainians in Poland do not enjoy protection within the entire European Union, especially those who were on our territory before the outbreak of the large-scale war. And they are also not allowed to enter Germany. Most of the people who have returned from the border during random checks are Ukrainians. Due to the influx of people who do not have these qualifications, Germany has reintroduced random inspections
– added.
Czesław Mroczek also spoke about what the Polish side can expect from Germany.
We say to the Germans: Support us in protecting the external border of the European Union, because we are dealing with migration, the illegal one, on the Belarusian-EU and the Belarusian-Polish borders. And in this regard, we count on the support not only of Germany, but of all the countries of the European Union, especially Schengen
– he said.
