Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the title of Hero of Labor to the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.
The head of state said this during the presentation ceremony of state awards.

The president also admired Matvienko’s “experience, knowledge and organizational ability” and noted that these qualities of the chairman of the Federation Council “arouse great respect.”
“The recognition of his merits was the awarding of the title of Hero of Labor,” he emphasized.
