According to Lungu, his documents were confiscated without explanation immediately after the plane landed in Chisinau.
“The reasons for their arrest were not explained to me. They examined personal belongings. Such violations must be punished. We will not stand aside. “Our lawyers will file petitions and complaints,” said the politician, noting that such actions of Moldovan officials show their fear.
A video spread on social networks in Moldova in which Lungu demands clarification of the reasons for his detention in the airport control zone and accuses border guards of abuse of power.
Lungu later said that opposition politicians and public figures in Moldova constantly feel the pressure from the ruling Action and Solidarity party, calling such actions by the authorities pointless.
