Former Health Minister Adam Niedzielski (he agreed to publish his name and likeness) was accused of exceeding his powers for publishing information about medications taken by one of the doctors. He provided this information on social media, referring to material about problems filling prescriptions that aired on a television news service. “I don’t comment on reports. I am quietly waiting for the case to be finalized in court,” Niedzielski said in response to RMF FM’s request for comment.
Accusation of abuse of power
The procedure concerns abuse of power by an official in the person of the Minister of Health through unlawful processing of personal data relating to the health of an identified person by publishing them via mass media in an entry on internet portal the damage to the private interest of a private individual.
– said the spokesperson of the Warsaw Public Prosecutor’s Office, Prosecutor Szymon Banna.
The spokesperson notes that the suspect has not admitted to the offense he is accused of and refuses to provide an explanation.

Submissions and resignation of the minister
In August last year, the former Minister of Health posted two messages on the X platform (formerly Twitter).
“Lies @FaktyTVN. In yesterday’s edition we heard that patients after orthopedic surgery in Poznań have not received prescriptions for painkillers in the past 2 days. We checked into Poznań. And what? Patients after orthopedic surgery received prescriptions for the indicated medications!!”
– wrote the former minister in the first contribution.
In the second entry, referring to the material broadcast on Fakty TVN, he provided personal data of a doctor from the city hospital in Poznań:
“(…) We checked it. Yesterday the doctor prescribed a prescription for a psychotropic and painkiller. These are the FACTS. What lies await us today?

A few days later the minister resigned.
