Maxim Musikhin, head of the legal department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Russia does not see it possible to withdraw from the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea in the Arctic. The diplomat talked about this RIA News.

The agreement guarantees, among other things, international recognition of Russia’s maritime borders and the country’s right to resources of exclusive economic zones, including those located in the Arctic.
