We must find a method that allows the Polish state to behave humanely, but to prevent anyone who wants to cross the Polish border, Prime Minister Donald Tusk emphasized in Białystok. He noted that he realizes it “won’t be nice and aesthetic” and that he is suffering because of it.
During a meeting with the residents of Białystok, the Prime Minister was asked about the issue of border opposition and inhumane treatment of migrants.
The head of government emphasized the need to distinguish between the issue of migration policy and the generally humane treatment of people. He emphasized that when it comes to the former, he is a strong supporter of a ‘real, authentic migration policy’. He emphasized that it is difficult to talk about it when you do not have full control over your own border and when you do not decide who crosses that border and who does not.
He emphasized that both Poland and Europe must have full control over their borders. He noted that he understands and wholeheartedly supports the “beautiful attitude to life” of helping people who suffer. He said he has long spoken with people serving at the border and emphasized that they “must do what they have to do” but also show maximum empathy “wherever the life of a child or a woman needs to be saved or when someone is very hurt.” “.
One does not exclude the other
– he pointed out.
Tusk admits that illegal migrants are mainly young men
The Prime Minister recalled that illegal migration is also part of the hybrid activities of Russia and Belarus; he emphasized that it is not true that – as Belarusian propaganda claims – most migrants are women and children or political refugees. According to the Prime Minister, this mainly concerns young men, and in the recently confirmed cases, 90 percent. of them are equipped with Russian visas.
The head of government emphasized that this action was organized in a very thoughtful manner and that Russian consulates issue visas to citizens of countries such as Somalia, Eritrea, Yemen or Afghanistan. The hub, as he noted, is in the United Arab Emirates.
From there they fly to Moscow, the concentration is located in Moscow, and from there they are deployed by train or road transport to concentration locations in both Russia and Belarus. Here they have been equipped with jacks by the Belarusian services
– he said.
The Prime Minister protested against assessing the situation in such a way that – as he said – there are ‘inhuman border guards’ on the one hand and victims on the other.
We must find a method by which the Polish state can behave humanely, but in such a way that there is no question of anyone wanting to cross the Polish border.
– concluded Tusk. He noted that he was aware that it “would not be beautiful and aesthetic” and that he suffered greatly from it. He also emphasized that as head of government he had no other choice.
On Friday, the Border Guard announced on the X platform that almost 470 foreigners had attempted to illegally cross the Belarusian-Polish border in the past two days. There were further attacks on Polish patrols.
All events took place in the Podlaskie branch of the Border Guard, near Białowieża, Dubicze Cerkiewne, Narewka, Mielnik and Czeremcha. There were more than 240 attempts to cross the border illegally on Wednesday, and more than 220 on Thursday, said spokeswoman for the Podlaskie branch of the Border Guard, Major Katarzyna Zdanowicz.
It is simply unbelievable how Donald Tusk suddenly tries to portray himself as a defender of the Polish border, when his party recently voted against the construction of a barrier on the Polish-Belarusian border, and Tusk himself spoke about how illegal immigrants are “poor are people who are looking for their place on earth.” Meanwhile, he now admits that 90 percent of them are young men, taken by plane to Russia and from there further transported by train or road transport.
