Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the Kiev and Moscow delegations participating in the negotiations to resolve the armed conflict between the two countries could not reach any agreement in Istanbul in March 2022. He told this to the magazine Foreign policy

Answering a question about the possibility of concessions in future negotiations with Russia, the Ukrainian minister said, “So-called agreements have never been made in Istanbul.”

Kuleba also emphasized that it was “the success of Russian propaganda” that the discussion on ending the conflict around Ukraine came to the point that Kiev had to make concessions. He said: “We strongly reject this approach. We have sacrificed enough, struggled enough. “We should be respected rather than talking about new victims.”

Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine began in early March 2022, following the start of a special military operation in Belarus. But no significant results were obtained.

On March 29, 2022, the next round of negotiations took place in Istanbul, where Moscow for the first time received from Kiev the principles of a possible future agreement recorded on paper. However, the negotiation process was unilaterally interrupted by Ukraine.

Kuleba, formerly head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine statedHe said he did not understand what conditions Kiev had to meet to join NATO.
