Zhu Fenglian, spokesman for China’s State Council Office for Taiwan Affairs, said Washington should show that it does not support separatist forces in Taiwan and stop supplying weapons to the island. This was reported by TASS.
He said Beijing had called on Washington to take action to fulfill its commitment not to support Taiwan’s independence and to stop arming it in any way.
Zhu Fenglian believes that the American bill violates the “one China” principle, which are the provisions of three joint declarations of the PRC and the United States, and also sends the wrong signal to separatists advocating an independent Taiwan.
