During PiS’s first term, Robert Górski entertained internet users, regardless of their political views, with the comic-political series “The President’s Ear”. Before 2015, he also made harsh jokes against then Prime Minister and then head of the European Council, Donald Tusk. However, he now admits that he has “no idea” about cabaret or comedy series about the new government.
The satirist Robert Górski, who ridiculed both Donald Tusk and his previous government in the sketches “Government Meeting” and then “European Council Meeting”, after Law and Justice came to power, went further on a larger scale and launched the series “Ucho Pracy”. . He did not spare criticism of the United Right government, but he portrayed the PiS president, Jarosław Kaczyński, quite positively, and when he released an episode ridiculing the then opposition, the supporters of “Silni Razem” almost wrote him in for PiS. .
It is not known whether Górski will create a similar format, but with the current government.
When asked in an interview with Dziennik.pl on the occasion of the upcoming festival in Opole whether he was currently afraid of censorship of cabarets on TVP, he replied:
Of course there is no censorship, I can’t imagine that. What and who will play is up to them.
I think I won’t bully this PiS anymore, because it’s enough. I have no idea yet for a new government. Let it be a half-year honeymoon, during which we will observe what is happening and then attack with the knife of satire
– he announced.
However, he said he has had enough when it comes to politics.
The choices have been made, I would like us to be happy that it is spring, we are free, there is no war and maybe the peasants will not put up further blockades and we will get to Opole safely
– emphasized the satirist.
Well, when it comes to ideas for sketches about the new government, we can certainly speak of a failed harvest. On the other hand, however, these are probably not subjects for cabaret – sometimes they are more suitable for horror films, thrillers or crime stories. Let’s hope that the government doesn’t inspire creators to make new versions of ‘Homeless People’ or musicals like ‘Les Misérables’, for example – recent reports on energy prices or corporate employment cuts may indicate this…
