“You laugh, but it seems that this is the first dismissal of a man who cannot tolerate these arguments,” Anna Zalewska, MEP for Law and Justice, told Deputy Family Minister Aleksandra Gajewska. The smile on Gajewska’s face disappeared immediately.
The neoTVP Info “Woronicza 17” program discussed, among other things: about the abortion debate that took place in the Sejm.
Sparks in the ‘eight-star coalition’
As Szymon Hołownia said in his commentary on the Sejm debate on the liberalization of abortion laws: a month ago the temperature in the Sejm was “too high”. But now “we had the calmest, most substantive, and most stylish debate on abortion that this Sejm has seen in at least thirty years.”
I followed the debate, so the Speaker’s words are a bit exaggerated. Because there were some sparks between the coalition of eight stars, because there are actually a lot of differences
– said Anna Zalewska, MEP for Law and Justice.
Please note, as we emphasize at every step, that none of these proposed provisions is in accordance with the Polish Constitution, with Article 38. It is not in accordance with the rulings of the Constitutional Court, especially the one from 1997 – I refer to Professor Zoll’s comments – and this is not in accordance with the rulings of the Court of Justice of the European Union. I remember the verdict from 2011, when they talked about what an embryo is – if you want to talk about it – we are talking about a child, its conception and life
– Zalewska emphasized.
Gajewska “extinct”
The Sejm appointed an extraordinary committee to consider draft laws on abortion. The committee consists of 11 people from PiS, nine from KO, two each from Poland 2050-TD, PSL-TD and Left, and one from the Confederation. The majority of PiS MPs were against the creation of an extraordinary committee to assess draft laws on abortion.

The presenter of “Woronicza 17” asked Zalewska whether Law and Justice does not exclude itself from the discussion in this way.
This shows that there is no permission to break the law. I know that over the past four months you have become accustomed to the fact that you can violate the Constitution, that you can gain access to different types of institutions by force, that there are no laws, that everyone seems to know what they are doing, that there there are arguments in the ministries.
– said Zalewska.
At that moment, the cameras showed Aleksandra Gajewska, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy. The PO politician was amused by what the PiS MEP said.
The lady laughs, but it seems that this is the first dismissal of a man who cannot tolerate these quarrels
– Zalewska remembered.
The smile on Gajewska’s face quickly disappeared.
