“Do you support the PiS project to return to the 0% VAT rate on food? Do you support the introduction of the euro in Poland? Will Paulina Hennig-Kloska, Minister of Climate and Environment, extend the freeze on energy prices until the second half of the year? – these are three questions that Law and Justice asked the Third Way today.
During a joint press conference, PiS Vice President Mateusz Morawiecki and PiS Parliamentary Club President Mariusz Błaszczak presented three questions to the Third Way.
Will Third Droga support the bill introduced by the Law and Justice Parliamentary Club to restore zero VAT on food? Second, will the Third Way support pushing Poland into the eurozone? And thirdly, will Minister Hennig-Kloska, who represents TD in Donald Tusk’s government, submit a bill to expand the energy shield, ie maintain financial support for energy consumers, for the second half of this year?
– asked MP Błaszczak.
The former head of the Defense Ministry admitted that PiS is skeptical about the answers to these questions.
For example, Third Road announced student rooms for one zloty during the election campaign. There are no dormitories for one zloty. She announced volunteer SISTER. There is no voluntary ZUS and TD has therefore not complied with the submitted declarations
– he remembered.
Błaszczak: We hope that TD will support this project
Mariusz Błaszczak also announced parliamentary scrutiny of PiS parliamentarians at the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
Minister Hennig-Kloska announced that she would submit a proposal to mitigate the consequences of the liberalization of energy prices, which would de facto increase energy prices. These are puzzling statements and that is why MPs from the Law and Justice Parliamentary Club will today launch a parliamentary inspection of the Ministry of Climate and Environment to determine whether a project exists that provides exactly such coverage.
– emphasized the politician.
From media reports we can learn that if such a project exists, it is limited to a very small group of energy consumers. In fact, this will not be an effective project because the beneficiary of this solution will be a very small group
– added.
During the election campaign, yesterday, at the market place in Praga Północ, in the presence of Tobiasz Bocheński, a candidate for the office of mayor of the capital Warsaw, we presented a draft law prepared by the Parliamentary Club for Law and Justice. on maintaining the zero VAT rate on food.
– said the chairman of the parliamentary club PiS.
Residents asked us what the chances are of this bill being passed, so we answered today in line with the majority in the Sejm. This is a Law and Justice Parliamentary Club project that we submitted. So first of all, a Third Way politician must allow this project to be brought into question. There will be a session of the Sejm next week. And second, we hope that Third Way will support this project so that it can be passed into law
– added.
Of course we are skeptical that this will happen, but theoretically such a possibility exists, because TD politicians in the parliamentary campaign said that they are somewhere between Law and Justice and the Civic Platform, so this will be a test whether the Third Way is the third way: Donald Tusk’s leg, whether it is a separate political entity
– said Błaszczak.
Morawiecki: Eurozone? Let’s look at Slovakia and Poland
Vice President of Law and Justice Mateusz Morawiecki, in turn, spoke about the deaths of volunteers in the Gaza Strip as a result of Israeli shelling. Among the dead was a resident of Przemyśl, Damian Soból.
Yesterday all Poles were shocked by what happened in the Gaza Strip. Volunteers, including a Pole, were killed and this appeared to be due to the actions of Israeli forces. What has the Polish government done about it? Has the Prime Minister categorically demanded an explanation from the Polish government for what happened in the Gaza Strip?
– asked Morawiecki.
NO. This morning he woke up and wrote a tweet. We demand that the Prime Minister of the Polish Government immediately address this issue, explain what shocked Poland yesterday and what cannot remain without a thorough explanation.
– added.
The former Prime Minister then continued with PiS’s questions to Third Way.
Regarding three questions for the Third Way: first, whether the Third Way will decide together with Law and Justice to restore the zero VAT rate on food. We have such opportunities in the Sejm. Our parliamentarians can form a majority together with the Third Way parliamentarians. We don’t need anyone for this. Just test the good will of the Third Way
– paid attention.
Secondly, the issue of pushing Poland into the eurozone. Let’s look at Slovakia and Poland. About twelve to thirteen years ago, our two countries were at a similar level of development. Slovakia has now joined the eurozone. It is very clear that the euro does not serve Slovakia. Another example is Spain, where national debt has grown rapidly over the past ten to twelve years. These examples should give us much food for thought
– emphasizes MP Morawiecki.
““It’s not worth going this route.”
Mateusz Morawiecki drew attention to a certain connection between rising energy prices and the election calendar.
The third area that could ruin Poland’s wallet is the increase in electricity and heat prices from July 1. Why from July 1? Because in the meantime there are local elections and European elections. On July 1, they will be behind us, and from July 1, those in power want to increase electricity prices and release the prices of electricity and heat energy.
– he pointed.
That’s why I have a question for the Third Way. Is the Minister of Climate and Environment, who comes from your party, working on appropriate tariffs that will lead to a freeze in electricity and heat prices? Will the compensation voucher not cover Poles who earn below the average income in our country?
– He asked.
These are actions that will empty the wallets of Poles. We are strongly against this. And here too, together with the Third Way, we still have a parliamentary majority in this Sejm, no new elections are needed. It is enough for us to communicate. Enough arguments, enough replacement topics
– said the vice president of PiS.
Thanks to the actions of the government, in which, together with Prime Minister Mariusz Błaszczak, we had the honor of serving the Republic of Poland, and thanks to the actions of the National Bank of Poland, inflation is at the level of 1.9%. First-year economics students know very well that this does not happen from month to month.
– he pointed.
The low inflation is the result of what happened six months ago, a year ago, a year and a half ago. These are the direct consequences of our actions. And where will the consequences of this government’s actions, against which we warn the Third Way, lead six months from now? Until inflation increases again. Just read the reports from objective market analysts. It’s not worth going this route
– Morawiecki emphasized.
