Rafał Trzaskowski could be more interested in city affairs; many things lie fallow, neglect includes: lack of investment in rental apartments – the left-wing candidate for the presidency of Warsaw, Deputy Speaker of the Senate Magdalena Biejat, said on Poland’s Radio 24 on Wednesday.
Biejat emphasized that she is fighting for the best possible result and “there are many indications that there is a chance of a second round” of the elections.
According to the left-wing candidate, the current mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, could be more interested in the city’s affairs.
Many Warsaw residents feel, and I am one of them, that the president had little interest in Warsaw as a whole. Of course a lot has happened in Warsaw, a new bicycle bridge is open, we have a tram to Wilanów, but many things are fallow
– she assessed.
No investment
She added that, for example, there is no investment in trams to Białołęka or Gocław, and there is also a lack of green areas.
This is also the issue of housing, which I raise a lot in this campaign
– Biejat noted.
She emphasized that Warsaw is a very expensive city when it comes to real estate, so the lack of investment in rental apartments is a negligence.
We want to build rental apartments, it would be a big program, an ambitious program, costing more than PLN 1.5 billion annually, but only PLN 350 million of this would be provided by Warsaw itself, thanks to government programs.
– said Biejat.
The municipal elections will take place on April 7 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Where necessary, the second round of voting will take place on April 21.
Rafał Trzaskowski (candidate for the coalition election commission of the Citizens’ Coalition), Tobiasz Bocheński (candidate for the election commission for Law and Justice), Magdalena Biejat (candidate for the coalition election commission of the Left and Urban Movements), Przemysław Wipler (candidate for the coalition election commission of the Confederation and non-partisan local government workers), Janusz Korwin-Mikke (candidate for the Nonpartisan Electoral Commission) and Romuald Starosielec (candidate for the Electoral Commission of Ruch Repair Polski).
