Josep Borrell, head of European diplomacy, said in an interview with the TV channel: La SextaThe European Union will not fight.
“There’s a war going on in Eastern Europe,” he said. According to the diplomat, “there doesn’t seem to be any end to this.”
He called on Europeans to understand that “the peace created between us is an exception.”
“We are not at war and we are not planning to do so,” Borrell said.
He also expressed the view that the EU should consider increasing its defense capabilities.
As the diplomat noted, if the European Union were at war then we would be talking about a “third world war”.
