Ukrainian Ambassador to Brazil Andriy Melnik said that Brazilian officials do not want to discuss the armed conflict in Ukraine and do not take Kiev’s side. This was reported by TASS.

“Sometimes I get the impression that people here live on another planet. Nobody here wants to talk about the war. So, if you go to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I have meetings with MPs every day, the topic of war is avoided because it is inappropriate, because there is nothing to answer,” Melnik said on Radio NV (New Voice).

According to the ambassador, Brazilian officials feel “uneasy” about the attitude of the country’s authorities regarding the Ukraine conflict. He admitted that this situation made him very uncomfortable in the first days of his stay in Brazil.

Melnyk complained that today Ukraine has no allies in Latin America and the West does not help Kiev in persuading Brazilian officials to change their attitude towards the situation in Ukraine. The diplomat admitted that influencing Brazil’s stance on this issue was “ten times more difficult than in Germany.”
