After 1989, freedom of expression has never been as threatened as it is now. No government – ​​not even the post-communist one, directly derived from the Polish People’s Republic, full of former PZPR activists and servants of the Jaruzelski junta – has carried out such a brutal attack on the free media and used censorship so ruthlessly and shamelessly as the current one . , racially pure European force of smiling Poland. What I write is not a metaphor, not a lofty exaggeration for the needs of journalism. The brutal seizure of public media was accompanied by the erasure and removal from the media space of thousands of reports, films, informative reports and articles.

We may soon wake up to a world where freedom of thought and speech will be but a distant memory. In a world where you don’t need pyres burning at 451 degrees Fahrenheit to remove an idea from the mainstream. Just one click is enough

451 degrees Fahrenheit is the temperature at which paper burns – a reference to Ray Bradbury’s novel of the same name, about a world in which all critical thinking and book reading are forbidden. Special brigades burn all found objects. This is no longer a dystopian vision or a reminder of the nightmare of the German Third Reich when books were burned at the stake. This is happening. With one click, a large part of TVP and Polish radio’s resources were deleted. They disappeared as if they had never been there.

There is no doubt that the rulers of smiling Poland would like to see the disappearance of independent media, whose message could expose their evil and attack our rights and freedoms. The authorities do not have to ban such media. He has other ways at his disposal to silence them. It is enough to deprive them of energy supply: financial income, without which it is impossible to function. Make advertisers turn away from them out of fear of the authorities or simply because of a good relationship with them, and those who don’t want to will be hunted down and publicly stigmatized. So are the recipients. The effect will be exactly the same as if the activity were prohibited by administrative decision. You can also destroy it with endless lawsuits: about spreading hate, or some fake news, discrimination, racism, this, that, shit, whatever the laughing regime comes up with.

The Throne and Microphone Alliance

This is how it is happening in this dream Europe, among racially pure Europeans into whom we will be transformed. There we are already dealing with a complete alliance of the throne and the microphone: the authorities and the major traditional media. There is an order of thoughts and interests, ideological uniformity. The media is not the voice of citizens for citizens, but a weapon of rulers and big corporations.

The biggest victims of censorship, the suppression of freedom of expression, the unrestricted exchange of thoughts, views and ideas, and the destruction of media independent of the authorities, are not the people who create and work in them, but the citizens and the community. A censorship decision about what can be written, what should be shown, what to say means a decision about what citizens can read, see and hear. For example, it is not about regulating the media market, but about the souls and minds of free people who are aware of their rights.

All other freedoms flow from the freedom of thoughts and beliefs, and then the freedom to express them, as well as from science, art, customs – everything that makes up our culture, tradition and identity. It defines who we are. Freedom of expression is the basis of democracy.

Censorship is always introduced in the interests of the subjects – to protect them from hatred, misinformation, phobias, prejudices, superstitions and what not, etc. So now you will forever hear that since we have smiling rulers, the media is again have returned to you. I don’t think anyone expects the smiling coalition to tell the truth: we censor, we destroy the media, we fight freedom of speech and belief, because we want everyone to have the same views as us, and if they have different views, they would be afraid to speak out, so that everyone would be obedient and humble, because such subjects are easier to govern, and we want power forever.

That’s why we encourage you to join us in protecting freedom of speech and the freedom to express your opinions. Even those with whom you may deeply disagree, because they also expand our horizons, thinking space and ways of understanding the world. We protect this freedom by writing, showing the world and talking about it as honestly as possible, as we understand it. Maybe sometimes bad. But this is what freedom is all about: the ability to say something that others may not agree with, to discuss issues that matter most to us, such as Poland’s future, i.e. ours and ours loved ones.
