The guests of the “Salon Dziennikarski” (Telewizja wPolsce) discussed, among other things: about the entry of Ukrainian grain and other agricultural products into Poland and the related Polish-Ukrainian dispute. “It is really inappropriate to tell us that we are not helping Ukraine at a time when we need to protect our own economic interests, the interests of Polish farmers,” emphasizes Marzena Nykiel, editor-in-chief of the website wPolityce.pl.
Part of this complicated picture is the gigantic grain export from Russia (…). Russian grain floods world markets. There are many discussions on this issue, which centers on the Polish-Ukrainian border
– he pointed out Marek Formelaeditor-in-chief of “Gazeta Gdańska”, referring to the Polish-Ukrainian dispute over grain exports.
We have no place in Brussels where this complicated knot could be resolved
– added.
“We must protect our own economic interests.”
I understand the Ukrainian side, how much it fights and suffers in the war, but we have never been indifferent to it. On the contrary, we were the first to provide aid to Ukraine and the first to warn and sometimes even force the world to send aid to Ukraine, even though it was not easy
– she said Marzena Nykieleditor-in-chief of the wPolityce.pl portal.
It is really inappropriate to tell us that we are not helping Ukraine at a time when we need to protect our own economic interests, the interests of Polish farmers who have serious problems with the Green Deal and the solutions imposed on us by the EU. Ukraine is free from this. (…) It is not about the interests of a single Ukrainian farmer, but about large international companies that simply exploit those lands to pursue their own interests.
– she added.
“Their position is different.”
Bogumił Łozińskideputy editor of “Gość Niedzielny”, presented the Ukrainian position on the whole issue.
Their position is different. (…) They believe that the struggle they are waging, and this is a very strong belief, as people say there, is not only a struggle for Ukraine, but also for Europe. It’s hard to argue with this approach. That is why they believe that they should be allowed more and that their agriculture should not be destroyed
– he said.
It is true that there are large latifundia there, but they know that they pay taxes, which is also a reinforcement for them. (…) I would also like to draw attention to this position of Ukraine, because the situation there is very difficult
– added.
We remember this, Poland was the first to say that a war was going on there for the freedom of Europe, but using it in this discussion seems like emotional blackmail, very inappropriate.
– said Marzena Nykiel.
