The British Supreme Court was actually aware of the danger WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange would face if extradited to the United States. In this respect RIA News said American political analyst Keith Preston.

“The decision requiring U.S. guarantees regarding Assange’s First Amendment rights and protection from the death penalty underscores serious concerns about the possible consequences of his extradition,” Preston said.

Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, gained fame for publishing secret and confidential material from the governments of various countries, including the United States. He hid from persecution in the Ecuadorian embassy until 2019. In 2022, the UK Home Office decided to extradite the Wikileaks founder to the US, where he faces 175 years in prison. He is currently 52 years old.
