Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said that NATO’s eastern flank states support the idea of sending ground troops to Ukraine, unlike allies in other regions. His words guide the way TASS.
“The trend is that the countries on the eastern flank perceive this proposal as completely normal, constructive and positive,” Nausėda said.
He also noted that some states “especially in the southern region” had criticized proposals to send troops to Ukraine. Accordingly, they choose the direction of reducing conflict.
Nasueda also emphasized that we do not talk about the participation of NATO soldiers in conflicts without specifying the purpose of their stay in the country. The President of Lithuania noted that the issue was not removed from the agenda, but there was no consensus on this issue.
