“Solidarity” will organize a demonstration in Warsaw! The association’s president also announced the fight to organize a nationwide referendum on the Green Deal.
President Piotr Duda announced both decisions in an interview for “Tygodnik Solidarność”.
At today’s meeting, the National Commission made two very important decisions. The first concerns the demonstration that we will organize in Warsaw on May 10 (…). We also want to repeat what we did in 2012, also under the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, namely a national referendum, this time on the so-called Green deal. We would like to ask Poles about this policy (…), because these “green” guidelines will affect every citizen.
– he said.
Yesterday, for example, the so-called construction guideline. From 2025 it will reach everyone who has an apartment or house. That is why we want to establish a national committee for the referendum procedure on the Green Deal, so that Poles can express their opinion on this subject. We want to collect PLN 500,000 as soon as possible. signatures
– he said.
Attack on “Solidarity”
Piotr Duda also warned of the attack the Union was likely to face.
We will probably face another frontal attack on Solidarity and me personally. But I don’t worry about it at all. I have been chairman of the National Commission for fourteen years and for me this will be a ‘repeat of entertainment’. If we show that Solidarity actually stands with other people, with other workers, and that we can fight for a good future for the Polish workers, then they will attack us
– he said.
