On Radio Plus, Senate President Tomasz Grodzki bizarrely tried to explain why he did not waive his immunity so that the court could decide whether Grodzki accepted bribes from patients or not.
During the election campaign, the Civic Platform proposed “100 details for 100 days of government”. For the implementation of the program, and in particular the plan to bring President Andrzej Duda before the State Tribunal. the former Senate President was asked on Radio Plus.
These (program proposals) are in extremely unfavorable conditions, given the fact that many things are enshrined in law and the unfavorable attitude of the President.
– Grodzki replied.
If the President – in my opinion – reacts emotionally rather than rationally, that he will refer all laws one by one to the Constitutional Court, then this is not a serious approach to governing the Republic of Poland.
– added the senator.
However, he denied that the KO program stated that “it would bring the President before the State Tribunal”. A journalist from Radio Plus asked: “Why not?” To which Grodzki was surprised that the program proposals would be implemented within 100 days.
I’ve read them all
– he answered.
Not implementing 100 details
The host of the “Sedno Sprawy” program noted that “probably twelve specific things for now” have been implemented and that further promises “will not be possible” to be fulfilled within a total of 100 days.
Don’t joke, but KPO – 6 billion for Poland, quickly settled, which in the blink of an eye, with a delay of more than several years, will finally start working for Poland
– said the senator.
He also attacked the previous government by manipulating facts.
In a completely incomprehensible way, PiS has not even submitted an application for payment of this money
– accused Grodzki, ignoring the actual actions of the PiS government.
Among the proposals implemented, the senator also mentioned: the “morning after” pill, in vitro.
To the journalist’s comment that the pill was something everyone was waiting for, he tried to explain that he had not ranked his achievements in order of importance.
The largest budget item was the increase for teachers
– he said.
The Minister of Finance is working to get this unfortunate health insurance premium back on track. These activities take place under extremely unfavorable conditions
– Grodzki added. However, he did not specify which “conditions” he meant. After all, it is the government’s job to serve society, regardless of the circumstances. Why is Senator KO looking for excuses for not keeping his election promises? The journalist returned to the issue of 100 days.
This is election rhetoric. You can’t say you said 100 days and then we don’t do anything. We run ministries, we are in contact with colleagues from different political options who exercise this power
– he answered.
Or should his party simply live up to its words after coming to power, instead of turning a blind eye to Poles? The phrase “we are building ministries” does indeed have some meaning, because the December 13 coalition is building ministries and filling positions, but the people occupying them did not immediately know what their responsibilities were. In addition, a tender is held for expensive limousines, a TV worth several thousand dollars is purchased for Donald Tusk and additional money is released for offices and audits. However, the full implementation of “100 special features” is still lacking. Moreover, the KPO funds mentioned by Grodzki were obtained by the government of Mateusz Morawiecki. This was already known in 2023.

Bribery case
Grodzki was also asked if he had “ever taken a bribe in his life.”
I never took it with me and the whole thing was created from the moment I became Marshal
– he answered.
I have always had a clear conscience and believed that the Independent Public Prosecution Service, when it reads all this, would behave as an independent Public Prosecution Service should. I didn’t influence anything, I didn’t pressure anyone, I didn’t ask anyone for them
– emphasized the senator, adding: “I was convinced that this was a political topic.”
This was intended to eliminate the one-man majority in the Senate. This was the political intention of the mafia prosecution established by Minister Ziobro
— Grodzki attacked the former head of the Ministry of Justice.
The Radio Plus journalist stressed that there were “236 witnesses who confirmed that money was demanded from them to expedite admission to hospital.”
Grodzki was again surprised and tried to explain, among other things, that these people donated money to the foundation.
The senator tried to explain that he was not waiving his immunity because legal proceedings take a long time. The presenter of the program said that the same applies to citizens who face the situation that a certain process takes time.
I felt completely innocent, so why would I give up my immunity?
– asked Grodzki.
So let the judge decide. The average citizen is not satisfied with the feeling of innocence
– replied editor Prusinowski.
Do you know how long a lawsuit takes?
– asked Grodzki.
He flies often, yes
– responded the presenter.
That is it
– said the Senate Marshal.
But what should the average citizen say? He is also old, so the feeling of innocence is not enough…
– said editor Prusinowski.
I have never been charged, so let’s close this topic
– said Grodzki at one point.
Maybe because you had immunity from the Marshal
— Jacek Prusinowski, editor, responded to these words.
Request for waiver of immunity
The Szczecin Regional Prosecutor’s Office recently withdrew a request to lift the immunity of KO Senator Tomasz Grodzki. This concerns an investigation into corruption at the Transplantation Aid Foundation. The decision was made by the new management of the Szczecin Prosecutor’s Office.
In October 2023, the National Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that it had received a request from the Regional Public Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin to waive Grodzki’s immunity. The Szczecin prosecutor’s office wanted to indict the then Senate President for fraud against patients, bribery and money laundering.
According to the Public Prosecution Service, the charges in the request for waiver of immunity relate to the commission of crimes in the period 2008-2019, consisting of extorting money from patients for operations performed within the public healthcare system. The prosecutor’s findings show that Grodzki allegedly incited other people to commit crimes, including: doctors who had already heard charges in the case and ordered them to commit these crimes.

Why did the former Senate President react so nervously about bribes on Radio Plus? His statements sound grotesque. His attacks on the PiS government could be linked to the December 13 coalition, which, among other things, is trying to make changes to the prosecutor’s offices and courts. Therefore, Grodzki himself may not have had to personally “pressure” anyone so that he would not be indicted.
