These are the last days of zero VAT on food. The lower prices of food products guaranteed by PiS will end on March 31, as the Tusk government has decided to implement price increases. The Ministry of Finance justified this step by the continued downward trend in inflation. Because everything is good and it gets even better! PiS is over and that is the most important thing. Who would consider such details as inflation shields, protection packages or tax cuts? Did Tusk’s voters expect pro-social activities? If so, it means they have no idea who they voted for. A little flashback for those who forgot.
It was already cheaper!
Donald Tusk and KO’s main anti-PiS slogan was “expensive”. There has been endless juggling with it in recent years. It was manipulated without taking into account obvious facts such as the pandemic, the war and international circumstances. Stupid, anti-government propaganda was played, intended to hold PiS responsible for all catastrophes and disasters.
PiS will end, prices will end. And you are here until the end of PiS, because the prices must end
– Tusk announced at meetings. He also claimed that the president of the National Bank of Poland is responsible for inflation, and his ‘settlement’ included 100 specific details for the first 100 days of his rule. The document states that Adam Glapiński will be brought before the State Tribunal for “failing to perform the fundamental task of the NBP, namely combating high prices.” Big imagination, even bigger revenge.

Donald Tusk also promised that he “has very specific solutions” with which “gasoline could cost PLN 5 today. And these are not miracles.” And although he announced it loudly, shouting at the President of Orlen, fuel prices are rising so quickly during his rule that gasoline will soon reach 7 PLN per liter.
There were also other promises to reduce taxes in 100 specific cases for 100 days. The largest involved increasing the tax-free amount to PLN 60,000. PLN per year. And what? And nothing! There are plans for now. The same applies to the energy shield introduced by PiS, which guarantees a reduction in bills by the middle of the year. What will happen next is unknown. The same thing will probably happen as with zero VAT on food. And this is just the beginning of the cost fun. The European Union is already implementing further elements of the Green Deal, which will fall on us like an avalanche in the Himalayas. The Deputy Minister of Climate was kind enough to indicate that the lack of subordination would be disciplined with sanctions.

Drozyzna for Tusk
Anyone who remembers and consciously evaluates the previous PO-PSL governments knew what to expect after Donald Tusk’s return to power. Because at the same time that PO was telling fairy tales about the Green Island, more than 2 million Poles lived in extreme poverty, including as many as 700,000 children. And although PO politicians denied it, these studies were confirmed by the Central Bureau of Statistics. It was revealed that 500,000 children in Poland did not eat lunch, over 900,000 children lived in extreme poverty and almost 1.4 million children lived in poverty. The people of Tusk callously ignored it. Julia Pitera claimed that there are no hungry children, just a lack of breakfast culture. Stefan Niesiołowski sent malnourished children to eat sorrel and mirabelles, and Ewa Kopacz stated that anyone who talks about hungry children in Poland is part of Russian propaganda. There were no pro-social programs at the time, and the election promises of 500+ were loudly mocked and viciously mocked!
But this is only a small part of the ‘social sensitivity’ of Civic Platform politicians. EU implementations have always been more important than safeguarding citizens’ interests. Example? In 2012, Tusk’s government introduced 23 percent VAT on children’s clothing, an increase of no less than 15 percent. And while other EU countries managed to fight to maintain low VAT on children’s products (Great Britain and Ireland – 0%, Luxembourg – 3%), Tusk played the role of a helpful top student who fulfilled Brussels’ wishes flawlessly.
Nothing has changed in this matter. We can expect even greater flexibility in carrying out Brussels’ orders, in meeting Berlin’s expectations and in developing the state, aimed at sovereign development and economic growth. After all, foreign countries have gone to great lengths to enable Tusk to return to power. And since nothing is free in politics, we will all pay for it. Salty!
