The process of drawing the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan may start from the Tavush region of Armenia. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in a briefing. TASS.
Pashinyan said, “It is possible that the delimitation process will start with the Tavush region.”
He emphasized that decisions on this issue should be based on a “full analysis of the situation.” Pashinyan noted that during the negotiations, the impression was created that “regional change” was not excluded. However, this seems “unlikely” to the Armenian Prime Minister.
According to Pashinyan, “showing interest” is necessary for the delimitation and delimitation process to progress. He noted the importance of “taking into account three points”: the legal component, solving functional issues (operation of infrastructure and safety of residents). According to him, only in this case the delimited border can become the “iron guarantee” of long-term stability. Pashinyan predicted that the delimitation process with Azerbaijan would begin “in the near future.”
