New Left co-chair Robert Biedroń believes that voters in the local elections on April 7 should show the Third Way (PSL and Polska 2050) a “red card” in response to these groups’ position on abortion. Is this already an open political war between the coalition partners?
Biedroń calls not to vote for the Third Way
Let us stop saving those who do not want to save women
– called a MEP who was a guest on the RMF FM radio.
There will be elections on April 7 and I think this is a good time for us to show everyone what we think of Third Way politics. They showed them a red card
– added Biedroń.
According to him, there are people who only voted for the Third Way because they were afraid that this group would not cross the electoral threshold. This time there is no reason to do so, according to the left-wing politician.
Let’s save women and save the business. Let’s vote for those who support women’s right to terminate their pregnancies
– he stirred.
Coalition? ‘In this case they will look like idiots’
At the same time, he announced that the left had no intention of breaking up the coalition over disagreements on the issue of abortion.
This coalition is built on a broad cooperation formula in many areas. People didn’t vote for us so we would give up now
– emphasizes Biedroń.
When asked why the provision on the liberalization of abortion rights was not included in the coalition agreement, he replied:
there would be no coalition.
According to Biedroń, it does not matter that other groups threaten to break up the coalition because of, for example, health insurance premiums for entrepreneurs.
They will give the impression that they are losers in this matter because they will not break the coalition if there is no agreement on the contribution.
– he pointed out.
Reduction of working hours to 7 hours
Biedroń also announced that within a few months a law will be drafted to reduce working hours to 7 hours a day and that – as he assumes – it will have the support of coalition partners and “has a good chance of being passed. ”
We have a statement from the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy. Minister Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk stated that the ministry would work on such a solution
– said Biedroń. He recalled that Prime Minister Donald Tusk himself made a statement during the election campaign that the working hours of Polish women and men should be reduced.
The Spanish have done it, and the Germans are testing it too
— the MEP advocated a 35-hour working week. He recalled that Poles, besides Greeks, work the most in Europe.
I would like us to work less for more money
– he declared.
In the future, I would like to see the minimum wage set collectively for the whole of Europe, and not for individual countries
– added.
Argument about abortion
Deputy Marshal of the Sejm and co-chairman of the New Left, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, informed journalists on Tuesday that the Confederation and the Third Way have accepted his request to the Sejm Presidium to proceed with draft laws on abortion during the current session of the Sejm blocked. Sejm. Earlier in the day, the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, announced on TVN24 that he had decided to go ahead with abortion laws in the Sejm on April 11, just after the first round of local government elections.
