“I see it this way: The Pope is asking the West to give up its ambitions and admit its mistake,” the diplomat told reporters.
According to Zakharova, the Russian leadership has never blocked the possibility of negotiations with Ukraine. At the same time, he emphasized that the Pope’s call to start negotiations was directed at Western countries, not Kiev.
