“This mythical Pegasus is one big husk, a scandal that did not happen, and the activities of the committee – as what is confirmed in the article – make no sense,” emphasized Jacek Ozdoba, MP of Sovereign Poland, during a press conference with PiS- parliamentarian Marcin A handyman in the Sejm.
We would like to provide you with information published today in the daily newspaper “Rzeczpospolita”.
– emphasizes former Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment Jacek Ozdoba.
This mythical ‘Pegasus’ is one big husk, a scandal that never happened, and the committee’s activities – if what is stated in the article is confirmed – makes no sense, it is a pointless activity, so I would say it is a waste of public money
– added.
“Rzeczpospolita described the capabilities of the device called Pegasus. According to the magazine’s findings, this Pegasus was used to breach the security of communicators to collect data and information. And not, as it was presented in the media: prefabrication, the creation of artificial news
– he said.
And this would mean that – for example in the case of prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek – we would be faced with an undisputed scandal.
– said the SP MP.
“Prosecutor Wrzosek is not a single victim.”
Ozdoba then quoted an excerpt from the ‘Rz’ article, which shows that the Pegasus system could – at the customer’s request – be equipped with additional modules, but the Polish services did not have such a version of the program. The program could read data from the phone but could not modify it.
This is valuable information because it contradicts beliefs that the services could have hacked into phones and changed the contents of text messages.
– pointed at the parliamentarian.
Pegasus has not prefabricated any artificial messages. This means that we are dealing with normal actions following the accusation of committing a crime, filed by the Public Prosecution Service. Prosecutor Wrzosek is therefore not a victim, she does not appear here in such a capacity
– emphasized the parliamentarian of sovereign Poland.
If the information is confirmed, we will be dealing with a scandal and lying to the public. As in other cases, we can read in this article: special room, special procedures
– said Jacek Ozdoba.
Play “Silent Phone”?
The whole truth about Pegasus is actually confirmation that we are dealing with a ‘scandal’ created by the government on December 13th. Naturally, we are not putting forward a thesis today, unlike our colleagues on the investigative committee, we want to clarify the matter
– pointed to the politician of sovereign Poland.
Everything indicates that we have neither the list of people who should be under surveillance nor any declassified documents, and Mr. Bodnar could have done that. Today we are playing a game of silent telephone, because I could also say that Mr.
– added.
Only – first of all – I haven’t read the files yet, I can’t make such a thesis, and even if I did, I can’t tell you
– emphasized Jacek Ozdoba.
Where does so much unverified information about Pegasus come from?
There have been many unverified words and theories about the use of the Pegasus system in recent weeks and months, due to a very simple fact: some of this information was and is classified as confidential.
– said PiS MP and former deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marcin Przydacz.
Today’s article in the daily newspaper “Rzeczpospolita” partly reveals the truth about how this system was used, both in a technical and legal sense.
– added.
There were allegations of alleged irregularities, namely that permits had not been issued in the form of a court decision. The article clearly indicates that there must in any case be an appropriate application with basic information, for example about who the application concerns. And based on such documents, the District Court in Warsaw made a decision based on permission or refusal to access this system
– said MP Przydacz.
“Clear the Pegasus case of a lot of false information.”
It was also said that the data obtained by the Pegasus system was exported somewhere abroad. This article also states that all this information remained solely within the reach of Polish state authorities
– added the former head of the International Policy Bureau at the KPRP.
Technical devices, telephones, smartphones and other information media are becoming increasingly technologically advanced. And criminal groups are also using increasingly sophisticated communication methods. Therefore, the services of every country must have such tools to effectively combat crime
– he emphasized.
The Pegasus case needs to be cleared of a lot of accumulated false information intended solely to serve political purposes. From the article in “Rz” it is clear how the Pegasus system was used
– said the former deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
