Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s office prevented some Ukrainian parliamentarians from traveling to Washington for a meeting initiated by the US Embassy in Ukraine. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak on the Telegram channel.

“The US Embassy organized a visit to Washington for a number of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada last March, but the office of the President of Ukraine did not approve this trip and the departure of the deputies,” the parliamentarian wrote.

Zheleznyak emphasized that both ruling and opposition MPs were not allowed to leave.

He also stated that the visit of Ukrainian politicians to the United States was considered as a means to support the adoption of the US Congress’s resolution to allocate aid to Ukraine.

Recently, the Office of the President of Ukraine trains Appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding the termination of Vladimir Zelensky’s powers. The question is whether a politician can legally remain in office without holding a scheduled election.

Klitschko before criticized Verkhovna Rada.
