More than 3 million voters applied to participate in remote electronic voting (DEV) in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation. This has been reported Web site Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation.

Applications for participation in the DEG can be made until March 11 at 23:59 Moscow time.

“More than 3 million people have already used this public service,” the ministry said in a statement.

Residents of 28 regions of Russia will be able to use remote voting. Muscovites will be able to vote for the presidential candidate through the regional portal.

According to the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, the most active regions in applications for participation in the DEG are the Moscow, Rostov and Sverdlovsk regions, the Altai Territory and the Chuvash Republic.

Voting on the DEG platform will take place from 08:00 on March 15 to 20:00 on March 17. In each region – local time.

For the first time since 2008, four candidates will compete for the presidency: Vladislav Davankov (New People’s Party), Vladimir Putin (nominating his own candidate), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR party) and Nikolai Kharitonov (Russian Communist Party Federation).

If current Russian President Putin wins the upcoming elections, it will be his fifth presidential term.
