I think everyone has already realized that Donald Tusk used an innovative criterion for appointing ministers. They took over ministries and performed tasks they had no idea about. And if some have any idea, they have been assigned roles that are opposite to what they should be doing. Or they appointed them themselves. As a result, what they do is pointless or very harmful. This is especially the case with Prime Minister Donald Tusk himself or with his Minister of Justice, Adam Bodnar. Furthermore, they derive perverse pleasure from what they do, especially if they cause harm. Sometimes it even smacks of sadism, suggesting at least sociopathy, if not the latter.
For example, Donald Tusk, probably together with his Minister of the Interior, Marcin Kierwiński, decided to consider border crossings and access roads to them as part of “critical infrastructure”, which is clearly linked to the militarization of workplaces during martial law.. It is an instrument of martial law against protesting farmers. More than forty years ago, militarization made possible the application of the rules governing war, that is, widespread repression and harsher punishment. And at the same time, the authorities could show their leniency towards some people by forgiving them punishments, often on the condition that they were completely disgraced.
The actions of Tusk’s team show a clear fascination with the ‘effectiveness’ of Jaruzelski and Kiszczak, even if the current rulers strongly shun this. And you can see the fascination with the ‘Goebbels of martial law’, i.e. Jerzy Urban, when it comes to sadistic propaganda, derisively called information policy. It is no coincidence that Tusk has not appointed his press spokesperson, because he feels best in the role of Urban. And it has more tools than he does, including: social media, where his posts are extremely “urbanized.” This is not surprising, because since the appointment of Tusk’s first government, Urban has been its great advocate and loyal voter.
An exceptionally perverse, even sadistic move by Donald Tusk was to entrust the portfolios of the Ministers of Culture and Education to Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz and Barbara Nowacka.. It is of course not the case that they themselves set barbaric cultural and educational policy goals. They simply met Tusk’s need to have these ministries taken over by someone close to the mentality of a barbarian and a caveman. Therefore, their rule in both ministries consists of destroying everything in their path.
Even in communist times, there were no people as ruthless, incompetent and uneducated as Nowacka and Sienkiewicz heading the Ministries of Culture and Education. It seems that Tusk wants to tell the Poles that he can be an exceptionally ignorant and uneducated minister, and then get satisfaction from what they destroy and how negatively it is viewed. This is an attitude towards culture and education that is familiar from totalitarian regimes, especially from the Chinese ‘cultural revolution’, but also from earlier Soviet and German versions. It is characterized by absolute disregard for tradition and the destruction of previous knowledge. The ideal subject of these regimes was a cowardly blockhead or a ruthless caveman.
What is most surprising is the complacency of the destroyers of Polish culture and education, or even the belief that they are carrying out a historic mission. There is another side to it, because only a barbarian can consider the liquidation of traditions, norms and knowledge as an achievement and defend with great zeal what every educated person sees as complete ignorance, cultural desert and extreme irresponsibility. Tusk’s nominees are proud of it and have not an ounce of shame or embarrassment.
The perverse thing is that the barbarians who are destroying Polish culture and education come from the intelligentsia. Their ancestors include: writer, Nobel laureate Henryk Sienkiewicz and the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences Witold Nowacki. As you can see, the apple can fall very far from the tree. Perhaps famous ancestors are a perfect alibi for the undisguised and enjoyable troglodyticism of their descendants.
The funniest thing about the whole construction of Donald Tusk’s government is that the circles that create this government and their deputies consider themselves the elite of Polish society and are convinced of their uniqueness. And it’s just a bunch of complexes, hidden intellectual and cultural shortcomings and embarrassing schoolgirl-style pretensions. This is an explosive combination, because to cover everything, they act like an avalanche, not of snow, but of stones. And the avalanche is effective, although completely mindless. Although this may only be an appearance and this entire demolition is a conscious act, although the barbarians assigned to this work may not be aware of this at all. Or maybe it’s even better if they don’t know.
