The Pope launched a new initiative for a solution in Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the World Union of Old Believers, Leonid Sevastyanov, in communication with Pope Francis. RIA News.

According to Sevastyanov, the pope proposes to sign agreements in Ukraine on the settlement of the tomb of the Apostle Peter in the main Cathedral of the Vatican or the relics of the Apostle Paul in the Roman Basilica of San Paolo Fuori le Mura. The pope would personally sign them and become their guarantor. Sevastyanov did not make suggestions regarding the substance of the agreement.

“Pope Francis considers the main reason why the negotiations did not turn into a crisis of confidence between the parties. “At the same time, he sees the desire and readiness of all parties to the conflict to begin negotiations,” he said.
