President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to Prime Minister Donald Tusk for a meeting of the governments of the two countries on their common border, which would take place before the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of his country. Zelenskiy also asked President Andrzej Duda to support this dialogue. As he also noted, “we need unity and solutions.”
As the President of Ukraine emphasized, this is a matter of national security.
I have instructed our government to arrive at the border between our countries as soon as possible, no later than February 24. And I ask you, Donald, Mr. Prime Minister, to come to the border too. Andrzej, Mr President, I ask you to support this dialogue
– wrote Zelensky, addressing Tusk and Duda on social media.
February 24 marks the second anniversary of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Zelensky’s call for common solutions for farmers
In a video published on social media, Zelensky referred to the situation at the Polish-Ukrainian border.
Enough Moscow on our territory, enough misunderstandings. We cannot humiliate each other. Neither Ukrainian nor Polish farmers. We need unity and solutions. Between us – Ukraine and Poland. And at the level of the whole of Europe
– said the Ukrainian leader.
Recently, Polish farmers protested, among other things: against the import of Ukrainian grain, the production of which uses pesticides banned in European Union countries.
