The attitude of the Speaker of the House of Representatives on this issue was criticized by White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. According to him, Johnson is “actively harming America’s national security” by not putting to a vote the bill previously approved by the Senate to allocate additional aid to Ukraine. He said Johnson should not “play political games” and expressed confidence that if the bill is included in the agenda, it will be approved by the lower House of Congress.
“The national security regulations approved by the Senate are before him. Border-related agreements are before him. But he continues to claim that these things are impenetrable,” Jean-Pierre said.
