We demand that the Tusk government introduce a regulation introducing a complete embargo on agricultural products imported from Ukraine today – Law and Justice politicians emphasized during the press conference.
Embargo on agricultural products from Ukraine
Tomorrow farmers will start their protest against the Green Deal, a protest against the policies of the European Commission, but also a protest against the import of agricultural goods from Ukraine to Poland. We demand from the government of Donald Tusk, from the coalition of December 13, that a regulation be introduced today by the Minister of Development and Technology, which will entail an embargo on agricultural products imported from Ukraine. This is what must be done, it is in the deep interest of the Polish farmers, and therefore in the deep interest of the Polish state. We talked about this threat last year. At the Convention in Łysy, President Kaczyński said that the crisis that will hit Poland if the embargo is not introduced will also be bad for Ukraine.
– emphasizes MP Mariusz Błaszczak.
The politician emphasized that the destabilization in Poland will also affect Ukraine.
We all know very well that Russia is still at war in Ukraine, and that Putin has not given up efforts to rebuild the Russian Empire.
– said the PiS MP.
The future of relations between Poland and Ukraine
In the interests of Polish agriculture, but also in the interests of Poland’s deepest interests, such a regulation should be adopted today and a complete embargo should be introduced on all agricultural products imported from Ukraine. This is of great importance for the future of our country, but also for future cooperation between Poland and Ukraine
– emphasized Mariusz Błaszczak.
The PiS MP pointed out that the basis of relations should be mutual understanding.
The future of our good Polish-Ukrainian relations cannot be destroyed by destroying Polish agriculture. And both the Green Deal climate pact and the import of agricultural products from Ukraine mean the destruction of Polish agriculture
– he emphasized.
Farmers’ protest
MP Janusz Kowalski said that “all Polish farmers are protesting against the liberal EU policy, for which Donald Tusk’s colleague, Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis, responsible for customs duties in the European Union, is responsible.”
There is no protection for Polish agricultural producers. We demand that the government of Donald Tusk, as on April 15, 2023, issue a regulation, which Mariusz Błaszczak was talking about. To fight for the effective protection of Polish interests so that Polish farmers can farm, because today they are fighting for their existence, for Poland’s food security
– noted Janusz Kowalski.
Today we see sugar, honey, frozen foods and other products flooding the Polish market, and there is no control over that. Only a complete embargo is an effective instrument to defend the interests of Polish farmers. During the first protest, the coalition prime minister was in the Italian Dolomites on December 13, but to this day he has not had time to meet with farmers protesting across Poland. It takes 5 minutes to issue an ordinance. We demand that the government act in the interests of Polish farmers. This is Poland’s raison d’être, and the defense of Poland’s food security requires it too
– Kowalski emphasized.
Fighting for Polish causes
Robert Telus, former Minister of Agriculture, emphasized that “in the European Union you have to fight very strongly and decisively for your problems.”
On April 15 last year, we stopped the border and imposed an embargo in order to negotiate with Ukraine. Only then did the European Union open its eyes and notice that there was a problem, because it did not want to see this problem before. Today it is hazy again. Why? said Robert Telus.
We know that Ukraine is ruled by oligarchs who own most of the farms and have registered their companies outside Ukraine. Our demand is in the interest of the Polish farmer. If Donald Tusk has any Polishness in him, he should make quick decisions so that farmers don’t have to blockade the Polish border**. You must act effectively. There are many videos circulating on the Internet showing grain being unloaded somewhere in the forests. This is the ineffectiveness of the December 13 coalition government
– emphasized the PiS MP.
