Head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell said that European Union (EU) states do not have problems in the production of bullets for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but they experience a lack of financing for their production. His words are quoted TASS.
“We have no shortage of shell production capacity. What we lack is funding,” Borrell said.
He underlined that European industry claimed to have production capacity, but lacked orders.
Formerly President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda statedHe said that the European Union (EU) suddenly put forward a figure on the amount of ammunition promised to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
“Unfortunately, I can say that the figures regarding the agreed promise to transfer 1 million ammunition to Ukraine are taken from the ceiling,” Nausėda said.
He noted that when EU countries began to evaluate the real capabilities for ammunition production, they concluded that “there is no such capability.”
Previously Borrell identified Ukraine’s main security obligation.
