British Foreign Secretary David Cameron plans to travel to the Falkland Islands (Malvinas) in the coming days. This trip will reportedly be the start of his tour of the Americas TASS.
“The Falkland Islands are a treasured part of the British family,” the British Foreign Office said.
The ministries emphasized that the issue of sovereignty will not be discussed as long as these lands want to remain “part of the family”.
Cameron plans to meet with local officials to honor the 255 British military heroes of the 1982 Falklands War. The Falkland Islands in the Atlantic Ocean have been the subject of dispute between Argentina and Great Britain for two centuries.
