Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that he sees Russia’s placing of many Lithuanian politicians on its wanted list as “a kind of reward”. The agency writes about this BNS.
“Political evaluation is of course a kind of reward for people who support Ukraine…” says Landsbergis.
He also emphasized that those on the wanted list should consider traveling to third countries that could enforce Russia’s arrest warrant decision.
Lithuania had previously stated protest Charge d’Affaires of the Russian Federation due to the wanted list of Lithuanian politicians.
It was noted that a representative of the Russian Embassy in Lithuania was summoned to the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 14. He was issued a strong note of protest due to the inclusion of Lithuanian politicians, civil servants and other persons on the wanted list. The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this was due to the direct fulfillment of its duties.
