The left-wing candidate in the elections for the mayor of Warsaw will be Magdalena Biejat, who will also receive support from the Miasto Jest Nasze association and other urban movements. Tomorrow there will be a conference with the presentation of the candidate and the opening of the campaign, said the president of the Left Club, Anna Maria Żukowska, in the PAP Studio.
Biejat is the candidate from the left
When asked in the PAP Studio why the left, despite the first announcements last week, did not present its candidate for the presidency of Warsaw, Żukowska replied that the plans had been ruined by the weather and assured that the conference would take place on Wednesday.

When asked if this would be the official opening of the national campaign, she said that this was strictly part of the Warsaw campaign and its opening. She added that “we will present even more events in the coming days, perhaps over the weekend.”

When asked about the launch of the nationwide campaign, Żukowska said it would consist of “two major congresses and program presentations”. Specific dates for these events will be determined.
Biejat about willingness for challenges
Magdalena Biejat herself admitted as much in an interview with PAP on Wednesday. The first press conference from the left will take place at 10 a.m. on Castle Square in Warsaw, opening the local government’s campaign.

– she said.
When asked if she felt strong enough to run for mayor of Warsaw, Biejat replied:
I am ready to take on any challenge in politics. I think I’ve proven that few things scare me
– she added.
Regardless of whether I will run for president or not, what I can add to this campaign is the hard work I did in Warsaw last term, my knowledge of Warsaw, where I live, where I raise my children, where I moving and by bicycle, by public transport and by car
– said Biejat.
As she noted, the left-wing candidates will be “people who are ordinary residents of Warsaw and know perfectly its pros and cons,” and the list leaders in the districts will be presented at subsequent press conferences.
The municipal elections will take place on Sunday, April 7. The second round of direct elections for municipal heads, mayors and city presidents – April 21.
