It is time for Russia to say “goodbye” to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly due to the lack of independence and excessive politicization of this structure. Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced this at a plenary session of the State Duma.
“Let us decide for ourselves, it is time for us to say goodbye to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The organization is definitely not independent, it is politicized. They dance to the tune and perform all the dances of Washington – what should we do there? – said Volodin.
He noted that despite the de facto powerless position of the Russian delegation, Russia had to pay contributions to the organization despite being one of the largest payers. Volodin added that Russia should adopt a wait-and-see approach after the funding cut to the OSCE PA.
