“If I offended anyone, I apologize,” Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadowy told Polsat News. Earlier, a local government official made disgraceful comments about the demonstration participants who spilled grain on the road in front of the border crossing in Dorohusk He called them ‘pro-Russian provocateurs’.
Shameful words from the mayor of Lviv
Let us recall that Sadowy posted a photo on his Telegram channel showing the scattered Ukrainian grain in front of the border crossing in Dorohusk.
Let’s call a spade a spade. This photo shows Ukrainian grain being poured from trucks by Polish, but in fact pro-Russian, provocateurs. The pseudo-blockade at the border continues
– wrote Sadowy.
The Ukrainians literally shed blood in the fields where this seed is born. Harvesting wheat in a field that has seen war is like the work of a sapper. Such actions (by Poland) are petty and shameful
– said a Ukrainian local government official.

Sadowy apologizes
Sadowy commented on the case on Polsat News.
You must understand my emotions: 30,000 residents of Lviv are now at the front. Every day we have a funeral ceremony, every day I talk to the families of those who died at the front
– this is how Sadowy explained his shameful words.
We have a special relationship with grain. We remember the times of the Great Famine. Therefore, spilling grain is a terrible thing. With the money from this grain, Ukraine buys weapons to fight for your and our freedom
– Sadowy said, adding that “Putin is happy when something like this happens.”
When asked directly whether he would apologize for his words, the mayor of Lviv replied:
If I have offended anyone, I apologize. But I am convinced that the Russian secret services are doing their job
– said Sadowy, adding that he trusts the Polish authorities.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture condemned the protest
The Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture also commented on the issue.
We are closely monitoring the investigation and expect those responsible to be identified and punished quickly. We understand it when Polish farmers defend their interests in a civilized manner. But this case of destruction of Ukrainian wheat has nothing to do with a peaceful protest, neither from a legal nor from a moral point of view.
– wrote in a ministry statement quoted by the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
It was also noted that Ukrainian peasants have been working in war conditions for two years, and the price for this work is sometimes their lives.
We would like to emphasize that we are absolutely convinced that such cases cannot affect our common struggle and the great support of Polish society that we felt during the two years of the war against the Russian invader.
– wrote in the statement.

— Unfortunately, the failure of Tusk in Brussels regarding duty-free trade with Ukraine. Nothing is possible. He left the Minister of Agriculture without support
