In a few years, a war could come to us and we must all prepare for it, the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski (PSL – Trzecia Droga), told Polsat News.
Exchange of ambassadors
During the conversation, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs was asked about the exchange of ambassadors.
There have been discussions with the president, who has handled this in a very rational manner
– He admitted.
I think we will reach an agreement with the president on this
– he assessed.
Prepare for war?
Bartoszewski was also asked about safety issues and what we need to prepare for. According to him, we must restore civil protection. When asked, “To be afraid or not to be afraid?”, he replied:
Prepare for the fact that one day war may come to us. In a few years, and we must all prepare for it (…), we must prepare for a possible armed conflict.
We must look at the situation realistically and be ready for all possible changes
– added.

Farmers’ protest. Bartoszewski accuses PiS
A nationwide protest by farmers started on Friday and they blocked the roads in many places. The decision on the protest action was taken, among others, by the board of directors of NSZZ Solidarność Rolników Indywidualnych. The reason for the protest includes: the European Commission’s recent decision to extend duty-free trade with Ukraine until 2025.
Protesting farmers are also opposing the introduction of the EU Green Deal and the influx of goods from Ukraine. Farmers are also protesting some of the solutions included in the Green Deal, including: in Romania, France and Belgium. Romanian Agriculture Minister Florin Barbu stated on Monday that he will demand the resignation of the EU Commissioner for Agriculture if the issue of the derogation, i.e. exemption from the GAEC 7 (i.e. crop rotation) and GAEC 8 (fallow) standards, “ is not resolved”.
When asked about this protest in Polsat News on Friday, the deputy head of the Foreign Ministry admitted that it made an impression on him. He said this is probably the largest agricultural protest in the last 30 years, but noted that it is also taking place in many other European countries.
In Poland this is caused by the fact that PiS left the farmers completely alone for eight years, even though the country had an EU Commissioner for Agriculture in the last term of office who did absolutely nothing for the Polish farmers. He accepted the disastrous anti-agricultural projects against which farmers in many European countries are protesting
– said Bartoszewski.
Responding to the comment that farmers accuse the politicians of the ruling coalition of passivity, Bartoszewski said: “But we have only been in power for a month and a half. However, the European Union’s decisions were taken during the PiS government, which approved all this, and Commissioner (Janusz) Wojciechowski even bragged about it.
We drew attention to the disastrous consequences. It cannot be the case that the European Union tells us that farmers must produce less, that we will import food to Europe (…), that meat cannot be produced, that other things cannot be produced, these are absurdities. And we protest against it. And who signed the Green Deal? Well, Prime Minister (Mateusz) Morawiecki
– said the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also announced that Poland would fight against the EU proposals together with a number of other EU countries.
First of all, not only with countries such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary
– he pointed out. He pointed out that the situation is currently also affecting farmers from Germany and France, among others.
When farmers from Germany and France take to the streets, it is taken much more seriously in Brussels than when farmers in Bulgaria or even Poland take to the streets.
– he noted.
From Brussels’ point of view, if France and Germany quit, this will be taken more seriously and the European Commission will withdraw from certain solutions.
– added.
Bartoszewski stated that “in the EU there will certainly be no consent among agricultural workers to limit the production or use of fertilizers.”
