“I know that Poles want to be able to fly from Poland and not travel through other communication nodes between our neighbors,” said Mateusz Morawiecki at a press conference in the Sejm in the context of the government’s plans regarding CPK. MP Horała, who was present at the conference, also said that Law and Justice had submitted a draft resolution on the continuation of investment work at the CPK.
The former Prime Minister expressed hope that despite the change of government and Polish state policies, key strategic investments would not be withdrawn. He also stated that the CPK is a multi-dimensional project that can change the economic position of our country in Europe and in the world.
Believe in CPK
A few years ago we made the decision that was good for all Poles, that we wanted a central communications port to be built in Poland – a large, central airport with railway connections connected to it, connections that Poland also needs for communications ease. between all our residents, but also for the protection of the environment, also to attract new investors, increase development opportunities and reduce the operating costs of our entrepreneurs. I believe that this extremely important project, probably the most important in the history of free Poland over the past 35 years, will continue.
– said Morawiecki.
I believe in it, but after listening to today’s parliamentary debate and some questions I would have to have doubts. However, I am an optimist and still believe that this continuity will be maintained, that we will continue to implement this great idea of an ambitious Poland. I know that Poles want to be able to fly from Poland and not travel through other communication nodes between our neighbors. I know Poland can afford it
– added.
Voices from the grassroots
Morawiecki drew attention to numerous voices, often from the grassroots and outside political divisions, demanding the investment.
We can afford such projects and we have shown that after the implementation of many other investment programs throughout Poland, but I also know that we have a certain social movement at the grassroots, we have some social unrest around this issue and I want everyone thank you from right to left. . I am glad that there are voices who, apart from the political divisions, can propose what is good for Poland, for the economic climate, so that Poles can earn more.
– emphasized the vice president of PiS.
This is less often discussed in this debate, but such a communications port also offers great development opportunities for many centers, but especially for the places around the CPK. These are urban centers, that is Łódź, and not just Warsaw, and this is how the whole project is structured. Let’s look at countries of similar size to Poland: Spain, France, Italy and Germany have high-speed lines and fast access options. We also want Poles to have such opportunities. It is very important to realize our development opportunities more quickly
– explained the former head of government.
Warning from the PiS president
Jarosław Kaczyński, asked about the statement of the Marshal of the Sejm, Szymon Hołownia, on punishments for deputies who yesterday, when PiS politicians Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik tried to enter the Sejm, violated the immunity of Marshal Guard officers, said : “From the side of this authority, which constantly breaks the law, one can expect anything, even political murders.”
When Morawiecki was later asked at a press conference about these words of the PiS leader, he recalled the Ryszard Cyba case from October 2010. As he said, there was a political murder “in which a politically motivated man, who presented himself as a PO man, committed the murder’. murder.”
We must warn about what could happen, because the escalation we are facing on the part of those in power is truly dangerous.
– said Morawiecki.
Ryszard Cyba was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Marek Rosiak. On October 19, 2010, the man broke into the PiS headquarters in Łódź with a gun in his hand. He shot eight times at two office workers who were in one of the rooms. Rosiak was hit five times; he died on the spot. Later, the perpetrator attacked Paweł Kowalski with a stun gun, knocking him to the ground and stabbing him several times. The attacker was overpowered by a city guard. According to witnesses, Cyba shouted that he wanted to kill Jarosław Kaczyński and “shoot PiS members”.
Polish armament
Morawiecki was also asked about the preliminary results of the audit of the Ministry of Defense during his administration and allegations that equipment had been purchased but without the necessary infrastructure.
The former Prime Minister responded that anyone familiar with arms purchases is aware that – especially after the outbreak of war in Ukraine – high-quality ammunition and equipment are in short supply, and “this means that what is produced is practically made by many countries.” . “I would like to buy immediately.”
In such conditions, after being a frontline country for two years (…), we simply did everything we could to purchase the most modern equipment
– he said.
He thanked everyone who contributed to this.
Morawiecki also appealed to everyone “who cares about Poland’s security to focus on increasing the level of armament of the Polish army as quickly as possible.”
Just like we did
– added.
PiS draft resolution
PiS MP Marcin Horała announced on social media that he, together with Mateusz Morawiecki, had submitted a draft resolution to the Marshal’s staff on the continuation of investment works in the Central Communications Port.
Today, together with Mateusz Morawiecki, we submitted the following draft resolution of the Sejm on the continuation of the CPK investment program prepared by the working team for Poland. I hope it will prevent the freeze and be processed quickly with support from all parties
— wrote Marcin Horała on the X platform.
