“Currently, we have made 1 million 880 thousand applications, 1 million 450 thousand of which are for remote electronic voting,” he said.
According to him, we are talking about 28 regions where remote voting is possible.
The Mobile Voter service received 430 thousand applications to vote on-site. Pamfilova noted that applications will continue to be accepted until March 11.
On February 6, the Ministry of Digital Development announced that more than a million Russians a week apply to participate in remote electronic voting (DEG) through the Gosuslugi portal. According to the ministry, the most active regions were the Moscow region, Chuvashia, Altai Territory, Rostov and Sverdlovsk regions.
Presidential elections in Russia will last three days between March 15-17. The new Russian leader will take office on May 7, 2024. Currently registered candidates are Vladimir Putin (self-nominated), Vladislav Davankov (New People), Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) and Leonid Slutsky (LDPR).
