“Donald Tusk’s government is giving up the fight for it [polityki zagranicznej Polski – przyp. red.] subjective nature, “appropriating” concern for Polish interests from its foreign partners – wrote former Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau on social media.
Former Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau assessed on social media what characteristics – in his opinion – effective Polish diplomacy should have.
Foreign policy is the art of defending Polish interests. The condition for its effectiveness is its subjective nature, both towards opponents and partners and allies. The subjectivity of politics is necessary in situations of divergence or even conflict of interest

The government of Donald Tusk gives up the struggle for its subjective character and entrusts the care of Polish interests to its foreign partners. In Berlin, Minister Sikorski called for a “fairer” revision of the EU treaties for Poland and expressed hope for a “creative” German offer given our expectations of compensation for war losses. Thus, he gave the initiative in these most crucial issues for Poland into foreign hands. In relations with the United States, the government’s initiative was in turn exhausted by cute photos of its members with the American ambassador. – said the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This is a symbolic consequence of Donald Tusk’s government seeking solace in foreign policy. Unfortunately, the geopolitical context of this comfort raises the greatest concerns
– added.
