This Sunday, the first action of Diana Morant, minister and future general secretary of PSPV-PSOE, was held at the headquarters of the UGT in Alicante, which received the warmth of the provincial head of the formation, as well as a large number of militants. Alicante local general secretary Alejandro Soler, Miguel Millana and PSPV-PSOE municipal spokesperson in Alicante Ana Barceló, and dozens of other public officials from all over the province.

The rally, called for 12 noon, started a few minutes late. Minister Morant walked along Pablo Iglesias Avenue, personally supported by Alejandro Soler and Congressional Representative Patricia Blanquer. As a detail and a show of support for the future secretary, Barceló wore a targeted badge on his clothes, which did not go unnoticed and was worn by other participants.

While the socialist militants were already seated (anyone who could, as the UGT headquarters was too small for the event and most had to follow standing). Miguel Millana was responsible for breaking the ice: “We welcome you with great love. “You represent a character with whom we socialists identify.”

Millana wanted the future secretary to feel that “Alicante is with her in all the challenges ahead.”

It was Alejandro Soler’s turn, who pointed out the importance of “uniting the voice of the party in one person.” “For the first time, the PSOE of the community is facing a change of cycle from the union,” Soler recalled.

Soler praised the minister and assured him that “he will soon have a great general secretary who will help us put the Generalitat government back together.”

Minister Diana Morant was the last to intervene, emphasizing her desire to “be there” and how the secretary-general had been reached; This, as he noted, was in line with fellow candidates Soler and Bielsa.

Morant assured that PSPV-PSOE’s union was “the worst news we could give Mazón”. Thus, he reminded that one of the party’s goals is to continue the fight against the far right, which was established as a government partner in the current Consell. “My generation thought we would never face a far-right government again, and now we are in institutions again.”
